OUR BRAND VALUES*

The Weavers have been farming in the Cotswolds for the past three generations, and in the South West of England since before 1570. They proudly follow a traditional method of organic farming, and place great store in caring for the land and animal welfare. Their closed organic herd enjoy a forage-based diet, and their milk production is not forced. They know that if their girls are happy, their cheeses will taste great too. The farm is ideally suited for growing grass, and during the spring and summer the clover-sown meadows deliver all their promise. The land is made up of low-lying river meadows that have never been intensively farmed. On the higher ground, nitrogen-rich clover-sown meadows create ideal grazing conditions for the winter months. The herdsman Richard has spent his entire life working with cattle, with over 42 years experience in the field. He is on first name terms with each of the 180 cows on the farm, and can often be found chewing over the latest gossip with Daisy, Petal and Rosie, the friendliest girls in the yard. Despite having to get up at 4.30am every day of the year, Richard loves rising half an hour earlier in the summer months to make the most of the beautiful morning light and lead the girls on a leisurely stroll from the fields to the milking shed – a gentle introduction to their working day. Every morning the milk travels just five metres from the milking shed to the Creamery, where our expert cheesemakers turn it into a delicio ... show more

OUR COMMITMENTS*

Sustainability

We are an organic company that try to reduce food miles and waste as much as possible, we do this by operating in such a way that any waste is recycled back into our production.

Environment

We don't like harming the environment, that's why we like to only use natural fertilisers and let nature be nature.

Local Communities

Being surrounded by small villages and neighbouring farms is great for us, all of our staff live just down the road and even have family members working in different areas of the business!

Packaging & Waste

We try to make sure all packaging is recyclable, some things are unfortunately out of our control but we are currently in the process of making everything recyclable! Even our Ice packs!

Inspiring & Educating

Our new cheese course has enabled us to teach people not only how to make cheese, but also how we look after the environment - Check out our website for more info on this, we would love to have you along!

Energy Reduction

Our entire dairy and creamery is heated by a biomass boiler, this means that we cleanly burn renewable wood chip to be as sustainable as possible!

Nutritional Values

Animal Welfare

All milk used is from our own wonderful herd of organic cows, of course they are farm assured and soil association inspected. We even have a Robotic milker that employs a freedom milking system, this means that the cows are never made to do anything they don't want to do (not that they are anyway)!
