Old Farm - Farm Shop Joins Happerley!

3rd Mar 2020 16:00 PM

Happerley are pleased to welcome Old Farm's Farm Shop to the Happerley network as they become transparent.

As 3rd generation farmers near Moreton in Marsh, the Righton family has sustainability at the heart of the farm. Their sheep and Hereford cattle are free to graze on the pasture land, while their 'Glamrock' pigs roam the straw yards. Their journey to become as green as possible starts with their farm shop. Reducing their food miles by stocking food  in the shop adjacent and producing their own hay and silage to feed their animals. By sourcing the majority of their food from within 39 miles, they can support local suppliers and help reduce their own carbon footprint. To partner this, they are pioneering the packaging of meat products by using compostable trays, refill products and goat milk soaps and shampoo bars.

As a member of LEAF (Linking Environment and Farming) they recognise the importance of education and now operate an Open Farm Sunday hosting schools and work experience students.

If you’re looking to fill your lungs with some countryside air, why not give them a visit.

We are proud to have a committed local farm producing and selling locally on board and are excited to see what the future holds for Old Farm.
