OUR BRAND VALUES*

The best should not be rushed. Grass-fed British heritage farm breeds produce succulent meat that’s full of flavour and character. Slow-growing, healthy and specially adapted to their native climates, they dwell in harmony with nature and are the natural choice for everybody who believes that the best things in life should not be rushed. We want to make it easy to buy delicious meat produced by British pedigree native breeds that live in harmony with the natural world. We believe that these heritage animals produce the world’s finest beef, pork and lamb, and that creating a greater demand for them is the best way to preserve them for future generations to enjoy. We work with like-minded farmers and skilled butchers to deliver meat with a fuller flavour and fantastic marbling that makes it moist and tender.

OUR COMMITMENTS*

Sustainability

We believe smaller family-run farms are the sustainable way to produce meat and that selling direct to the customer ensures money goes to farming communities that do so much to look after the countryside.

Environment

Grasses, wildflowers and herbs comprise the natural diet of cattle and sheep. Spending as much time as possible in the fresh air eating natural foods contribute to happier and healthier livestock. Permanent pastures store carbon, a greenhouse gas, and act as a brake for floodwater. Grazing with livestock improves the fertility of the soil and enhances bio-diversity, and, does not create the same waste disposal issues as those associated with livestock reared in sheds. We ensure our farmers do not use any pesticides or inorganic fertilisers.

Local Communities

Our staff are all from the local community. We support small, traditional farms that graze their livestock on pastureland, many areas of which are still packed with native grasses and wildflowers that make them havens for wildlife.

Packaging & Waste

We aim to reduce waste and all our packaging where possible is recyclable.

Inspiring & Educating

By producing high quality meat products we hope to inspire and educate on the importance of grass fed meats. We also promote the use of Heritage farm breeds which aren’t just good to eat: they play an important role in taking care of the environment around them, helping to preserve the traditional landscapes for which England is famous.

Energy Reduction

Where possible we aim to reduce energy consumption and lower our carbon footprint.

Nutritional Values

Slow-grown grass-fed meat tastes great and contains significant levels of Omega-3 fatty acids, along with Vitamin A and E and the antioxidant beta-carotene. It also contains more Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA), associated with lowering the risk of heart disease and cancer as well as promoting leaner body mass.

Animal Welfare

We ensure all farms used maintain the highest levels of animal welfare, that they all allow their animals to grow at their own pace in pastures that suit the animals native environments. This ensures we only sell meat from happy and healthy animals.
